Your first workspace
How a DataMaker Cloud subscription set up before you sign up covers your first workspace automatically, and what the license screen says when it cannot.
Automators can set up your DataMaker Cloud subscription before you have an account. When they do, it waits for you: the workspace you get on your first sign-in is covered straight away, and you never see the license screen.
How the subscription finds you
When Automators sets up the subscription they record who it is for:
- your email address, for any plan, or
- your company's email domain, for Enterprise only (for example
example.com, so anyone signing up with an@example.comaddress is covered). A public mailbox domain such asgmail.comoroutlook.comcannot be used, because anyone can sign up with one.
Sign up with that address and your personal workspace joins the subscription the moment it is created. A workspace you create later is covered the same way, up to the number of workspaces your plan includes.
If you signed up before the subscription was set up, nothing is lost: when Automators sets it up, the workspaces you created are added to it, oldest first, up to your plan's workspace allowance. A workspace someone else created is never added just because you are one of its owners.
Addresses are matched without regard to case, so Ada@Example.com and
ada@example.com are the same person. If you were invited to a colleague's
workspace, you join that workspace instead and no personal workspace is
created; see Inviting teammates.
When a workspace could not be added
If your organisation has a subscription but a workspace could not be added to it, usually because every workspace the plan includes is already in use, the license screen says so:
Your organisation has a DataMaker license, but this workspace wasn't added to it.
Automators can see the reason beside your workspace and can add it once the allowance allows. You can also email them from that screen; it includes the workspace's name and id. Your other workspaces keep working while you wait.
